What is a URL?
URL which stands for Uniform resource locator, also known as web address is a string of characters used to identify websites. In most web browsers the url is displayed at the top in the address bar, and looks something like this "http://www.weebly.com/weebly/main.php". The url has several key parts the first of which is the protocol identifier and it says which protocol to use, the next part is called a resource name and it specifies the ip address or domain name where the resource is located. Both of these parts are seperated by a colon and two forward slashes.
